The achievements in the field of communication continue to be an essential part of our life, and websites are tools that have become indispensable in our modern world. Our CJ websites are important means to make the history, spirituality and charism of the congregation accessible worldwide and to share about our manifold mission and our way of life.
I am very happy that the Allahabad Province has updated their website. This will enable us as a congregation to provide better digital access to characteristic elements of our identity, life and mission specifically in the North Indian context. It is an excellent means to raise deeper awareness of our foundress Mary Ward, to share her spiritual heritage.
May those who visit this website be touched and inspired, and themselves become channels of communication to share Mary Ward's spirit and legacy, as well as the richness of our way of living out our charism and mission today.

I am delighted to add my own welcome to those visiting the website of the Congregation of Jesus Allahabad Province.
In 2012 the Congregation held its General Congregation, both to elect the new General Superior and also to set the direction of the Congregation for the nine years to 2020. Out of that meeting came our Message which focused on nine major themes relating to our life as daughters of Mary Ward our Foundress and as women “called to bring hope”.
We know ourselves to be “companions of Jesus in mission” who desire to live as contemplatives in action and as “women who seek to make the world more human” and who are “rooted in God, passionate for Christ, courageous prophets ready to take risks”.
We are also committed to using all the means at our disposal to follow Jesus’ command to “go, make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:19). In the 21st century these tools of evangelization include modern communications media which we wish to use responsibly and creatively. It is for that reason that each province of the Congregation has committed itself to having a website which aims to share our mission and our ministries with those who are interested.
I very much hope that you will enjoy the website but that, even more, you will find in it a source of inspiration for your own commitment to gospel values and to the service of others, especially the poor and most needy in our society.

400 years ago, Mary Ward, a great woman of vision predicted, “Women in time to come will do great things.” No doubt this conviction rose from her deep personal relationship with Jesus who, on the morning of his Resurrection told Mary Magdalen, “Go to my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father, and your Father, to my God and your God” and Mary Magdalen went and said to his disciples, “I have seen the Lord, and this is what he said to me” (John 20:17-18). As we focus on Mary Ward’s vision of a new role for women in our times we think of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and the other women, the first evangelists of the Resurrection. We are inspired also by the valiant women who have followed Mary Ward over the centuries bringing the good news to people in all continents through varied ministries, leaving us a Trail of Light.
Today the means of communication, which technology now offers, allows us to think of humanity as one large family which, while respecting different identities, cultures and languages, is tearing down the walls of separation and moving closer as one family of God. As the Allahabad Province launches its new website it is my hope that this new medium of communication may help to unite hearts and minds across nations, create awareness of the Planet Earth and the right of all peoples to live in peace and security.
