Life is about cherishing the past, facing the present and moving towards the new milestone. Yes, three of our young sisters willingly decided to offer themselves to the service of God through the service of His people.
The best use of life is love. The best expression of love is time and the best time to love is now. This was the reason for us to gather together in the Provincial House on 30th July to rejoice with our youngsters who were taking a bold step in their lives. As the saying goes, “Nothing worth having comes easy”.
The Vestition, the blessing of the Holy Dress was done in a simple, but impressive ceremony officiated by Rev. Fr. Isidore D’ Souza and handed over to the brides, by Sr. Roshni, the Provincial Superior. The Parents of the brides were exuberant with joy to see their daughters very convinced and committed.
31st July was the Day chosen for the first Profession, the Feast Day of St Ignatius whose constitutions we, the CJs are blessed with to follow. With a solemn entrance procession, the brides, accompanied by their parents, formators, superiors and priests along with the Chief Celebrant entered the tastefully decorated Chapel.
The choir struck up melodiously to add grace and beauty to the occasion. The Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allahabad Rt. Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly in his inspiring homily lauded the sisters for their courage and conviction. He appreciated the parents for their joyful offering of their beloved daughters to the service of the Lord.
Thereafter, the brides were felicitated and greeted with songs and flowers. The ceremonial cake cutting was done by the brides and they shared their joy with all. The celebrations came to an end and the guests returned to their respective places. The brides were given the choice of going with their parents for a short home visit.
Life begins for you, sisters. As you move on, the path to success and happiness may seem rocky, but your choices can ultimately determine the desired end results. We, your sisters would like to assure you that we are with you. Jesus holds your hand and his Mother Mary, our Mother too, accompanies you. Be courageous, like our Venerable Mother Mary Ward who paved the way for us to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. “Do not be afraid, I am with you, till the end of time”, says Jesus. Trust in his promises and go on. Guided by the Almighty, you may strive to go beyond the possibilities is our wish for you, dear sisters.
