Darshana completed one year successfully amidst many hurdles. Praise the Lord!
A jubilant Darshana celebrated its first Anniversary in a grand style. The wonder kids entertained their parents and friends with their many gifts and talents. Thus they removed the stigma associated with disability. Take the DIS out of disabled promoting acceptance and tolerance. Give differently abled children extra chance and they will prove their mettle. That is what they did on December 19th 2017.
The President of the function Rt. Rev. Raphy Manjaly, the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allahabad was more than pleased to watch them perform. It is an acknowledged fact that specially abled children are subjected to ugly forms of discrimination, their families become victims too. When poverty, physical neglect and social marginalization intersect, the impact on the disabled can be devastating. It is up to us, the able bodied ones to make a difference in this type of attitude of the society. Then these differently abled - special children will find a place for themselves in the society.
